Grind it out along the streets, slip through an alley, or go for one big shot over the rooftops - how you get to the cup is up to you. Items and unexpected accidents can turn a jam into a shortcut. ■ 20+ items. Your ace in the hole, or a prank on everyone else Send your ball through one of the item boxes scattered around town and you get one of over 20 items. Use it on yourself, or on everyone else. Power Up can stretch your own drive - or send every rival flying way past the hole. Rewind can undo your own disaster - or wipe out someone else's perfect shot. The same item plays a different role depending on who you use it on, and when. ■ Read the city, play your own line A new city is generated every round - a slightly odd one, where the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the pyramids and an amusement park all turn up. The city stays the same for the whole round, while the tee and the cup move every hole. And the cup isn't always on the street: it can be inside a building, on a rooftop, on an island out at sea, or on the deck of a moored ship. Look out over rivers and bridges, parks and the high-rise downtown, and pick your own route. ■ The city itself is full of tricks Hit a moving car and your ball goes flying. Hit a red oil drum or a tanker truck and it explodes. Hit a fire hydrant and a jet of water shoots up. A blast can ruin your shot - or launch you most of the way there. Whether you use it on purpose or get caught up and laugh about it is part of the fun of every shot. ■ Play it the way your friends like Pick the day's game from three match rules. Items on or off, number of holes, hole length, wind strength and more can all be set in the lobby. - CUP (stroke play): Simple golf: hole out in as few strokes as you can. - CHECKPOINTS (checkpoint run): Visit every checkpoint in town in any order, then head for the cup. The sooner you finish, the more you score. - TERRITORY (turf war): Fight over spots around the city. The hole ends the moment anyone holes out; you score for each spot you hold, and whoever sank it gets a bonus. Keep grabbing, or end it first? ■ The best golfer doesn't always get the last laugh Every round ends with an awards ceremony. Bonus titles go to whoever tops an unexpected record - most balls out of bounds, most splashdowns, most rooftop landings, and more. Titles come with score bonuses, so the ceremony can flip the standings.
